Cutting Red Tape & Supporting Our Service Members
Recently, I introduced two important pieces of legislation aimed at reducing government overreach and delivering real results for the American people.
I reintroduced the Supporting Military Voters Act, a bipartisan effort to ensure our service members and their families can fully participate in our democracy—no matter where they’re stationed. These brave Americans risk everything for our country. The least we can do is guarantee their voices are heard at the ballot box.
This bill directs the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to conduct a comprehensive review of how the federal government is meeting its responsibilities under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). The findings will help Congress understand what’s working, what isn’t, and what improvements are needed to ensure every service member who wants to vote can do so—securely and on time.
I also introduced the Cutting LNG Bunkering Red Tape Act to support Florida’s ports and the hardworking men and women who keep them running.
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is a clean, efficient marine fuel, and Florida—especially Jacksonville—is leading the nation in LNG bunkering, the process of supplying LNG to ships for fuel. The Biden Administration imposed needless regulatory hurdles, treating these domestic fuel transfers as ”exports.” This designation slows operations, increases costs, and threatens jobs.
My bill would codify a Trump-era policy clarifying that LNG bunkering within U.S. waters is not an export and should not be subjected to burdensome regulations. Florida’s ports—and others across the country—deserve the clarity and certainty they need to plan, expand, and thrive.
Preserving Election Integrity Starts with Clean Voter Rolls
As Florida’s former Secretary of State, I worked closely with county supervisors of elections to ensure our registration lists were up to date. That effort paid off—Florida is now seen as a national leader in election integrity. Clean voter rolls help prevent fraud, reduce confusion at the polls, and build public trust in our elections.
Recently, I participated in a House Administration Committee hearing focused on a critical—but often overlooked—component of election security: maintaining accurate voter rolls. Election integrity isn’t about partisanship—it’s about trust. I will continue working to ensure every legal vote is counted and every state has the tools to secure its elections.
